Vijay Deverakonda Reveals He Would’ve Waited 10 Years For Samantha Ruth Prabhu To Continue Kushi’s Shoot
Pan-Indian actors Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu are all set to create magic on the big screen with their much-awaited movie Kushi. With the release of the trailer and the songs, fans have been eagerly waiting to watch the film. It has indeed been a long wait for the fans, as the movie was announced early last year. While the shooting of the movie had started in April 2022, the shooting schedule of the movie was later stalled due to Samantha being diagnosed with Myositis.

The shoot was put on hold for eight months as Vijay was focusing on his other projects and Samantha was being treated for her diagnosis. Now during a recent interaction, when asked about waiting that long to continue the shoot of Kushi, the actor shared that he was ready to wait for a very long time as no one can play the character better than Samantha. Quoted by Bollywood Life, he said, “I can't imagine anyone else but Samantha in this character. I was ready to wait as long as she needed to get cured. I would have waited even it took her 10 years to come back to the sets of the film.”

Adding to the 34-year-old’s statement, the director Shiva Nirvana revealed that he wrote her character keeping Samantha in mind as he is a huge fan of her work. For the unversed, the actress and the director have worked together in Majili (2019).

On the work front, Samnatha Ruth Prabhu was last seen in the mythological film Shakuntalam. Apart from Kushi, she has Citadel co-starring Varun Dhawan in her pipeline. On the other hand, Vijay Deverakonda was last seen in Liger opposite Ananya Panday. He is currently filming for a Parasuram directorial which also stars Mrunal Thakur.

Talking about Kushi, the movie will be released on September 1 in multiple languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. It also stars Murali Sharma, Sachin Khedekar, Vennela Kishore, and Rahul Ramakrishna in pivotal roles.
