Actor Vijay Deverakonda has been stealing hearts of the audiences with his humble personality and versatile performances. His on-screen presence and chemistry with his co-stars is well-loved by the audience. As he awaits the release of his upcoming film Family Star, co-starring Mrunal Thakur, he recently sparked controversy when he confessed that he prefers not to work with debutant directors. Explaining the same he stated that he want’s to work with directors, who are fully “ready to exploit me.”

The 34-year-old actor stated that he is ready to work with directors who have directed atleast one film so that they know how everything works. In his words, “It’s a huge challenge to handle things when you come straight onto a set. There will be a lot of pressure to handle the budget and scale. When they do one film, it will help them get into the groove. It’s like having a practice match and warm-up.” ALSO READ: OMG! Well, his take has not gone down well with the netizens as they have taken it upon themselves to troll the Arjun Reddy star. Many even tagged him as arrogant. Clarifying his controversial statement, Deverakonda, during a press conference for Family Star, asked who would work with debutant and aspiring actors if he keeps on locking debutant directors for his projects. He affirmed that new actors need a debutant director. As quoted by the Free Press Journal, the Liger actor added, “Considering the substantial budgets of my films now, I have to be responsible and ensure I make informed decisions. Hence, I mentioned that I prefer directors with at least one movie under their belt, provided the script is compelling.”

On the work front, Vijay Deverakonda was last seen in Kushi, co-starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu. He has Parasuram Petla directorial Family Star alongside Mrunal Thakur. He also has an untitled project with Gowtam Tinnanuri in his pipeline. It is being stated that actress Rashmika Mandanna has replaced Sreeleela in the movie.
