Telugu Actress Pooja Gandhi To MARRY Bangalore Businessman, Vijay In A 'Mantra Mangalya' Wedding, At The Age Of 40! Leaves The Internet Impressed-DETAILS INSIDE
Pooja Gandhi, who is popularly known as the 'male hudugi’ (rain girl) for her role in 'Mungaru Male', has surprised her fans as she announced her wedding with businessman Vijay Ghorpade, through 'Mantra Mangalya' on Wednesday. The actress revealed her marriage plans via a handwritten letter in Kannada.

For those unaware, 'Mantra Mangalya' is Rashtrakavi Kuvempu’s vision of a model of marriage outside religious and orthodoxical practices.

The holy custom does not allow dowry and lavish weddings, and expenses are kept minimal. The couple will exchange vows in Kannada and there will be no priest, instead the elder members of the family or friends of the couple officiate the marriage. Marriages across caste and religion are recognised.

Interestingly, Pooja's impending marriage has stirred quiet a buzz in Karnataka, notably due to her stature as a highly sought-after actress in Kannada cinema. Unlike many actors from various regions who gained popularity in Kannada cinema through dubbing, Pooja Gandhi has earned critical acclaim by mastering Kannada and providing her own voice for her films. This effort earned her immense respect and affection from the local audience.

As per the reports, Pooja Gandhi's fiancé Vijay is a Bengaluru-based logistics firm owner and native of Karnataka and the couple are said to have been in love for quite a few years now and they will soon begin their marital journey. Pooja Gandhi's transformation from a Punjabi-origin actress to someone deeply immersed in Kannada culture, mastering the language and now marrying a Kannadiga, has earned immense pride and admiration from the people of Karnataka.

Having born into a Punjabi family in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, Pooja Gandhi spent her early years in Delhi and she was introduced to the Kannada film industry with Mungaru Male, where she established her foothold and later found success. Pooja Gandhi has also ventured into Bengali, Tamil and Malayalam cinema.
