Tamil Director-Actor RNR Manohar Passes Away Due To A Heart Attack At 61
Tamil director-actor RNR Manohar breathed his last due to a cardiac arrest in a Chennai hospital on Wednesday, November 17. He was 61. According to reports, Manohar, who is the younger brother of DMK leader N.R. Elangovan, was recently diagnosed with COVID 19 virus. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai for the last 20 days. Manohar had apparently passed away at 8.30 am today.

In 2012, Manohar's 10-year-old son Ranjan lost his life by drowning in his school swimming pool. It is said that his son’s tragic demise caused him great anguish. Since then, the filmmaker had been left heartbroken.  

RNR Manohar is best known for his work as a director in the movie 'Maasilamani', with which he made his debut in 2009. The film had Nakul and Sunaina in the lead roles. It was followed by his second film' Vellore Maavattam'. Manohar began his career by assisting KS Ravikumar in films like ‘Band Master’ and ‘Suriyan Chandran’. 


RNR Manohar was last in Arya-starrer 'Teddy', in which he played Sayyesha's father. He had appeared in several films. Amongst them are Kallazhagar, Dhill, Sutta Pazham, Ya Ya, Veeram, etc.

He will next be seen in 'Veeramae Vaagai Soodum' directed by debutant Thu Pa Saravanan. The shooting of the action drama was completed a month ago.

Manohar is survived by his wife.
