Producer Chalasani Ashwini Dutt is a celebrated personality in the south film industry. He is the founder of Vyjayanthi Movies. Many projects have been backed by the producer and were immensely successful. Ashwini Dutt recently mentioned that Jr. NTR was not the first choice for the film ‘Student No. 1’.

Chalasani Ashwini Dutt was a part of the celebrity talk show Alitho Saradaga hosted by Comedian Ali. Dutt who produced also ‘Student No. 1’ mentioned on the celebrity talk show that the rebel star Prabhas was the first choice of the maker to play the titular character and not Jr. NTR. He also mentioned that late actor Nandamuri Harikrishna asked them to cast his son Jr NTR for playing the lead in the film and therefore they had to change their decision and they chose him.




For the unversed, ‘Student No.1’, the romantic action drama was the debut film of iconic filmmaker SS Rajamouli in Tollywood. The film was applauded by the audience and it proved to be a massive success for the 39-year-old actor. His performance in the film was critically acclaimed and appreciated by the fans. This film established the ‘RRR’ as a leading actor in the industry. Interestingly, this was Tarak’s second film.

The producer also talked about his upcoming film Project K starring Deepika Padukone and Prabhas in the lead and legendary Amitabh Bachchan in a substantial role. This is Padukone’s first Telugu film. Ashwini Dutt also shared that almost 55 per cent of the shoot of this sci-fi film is already done. Makers have used Alexa 65 camera for the shoot which cost around a whopping amount of Rs 8 crores.
