Nithya Menen took to social media handle to call out a media publication for publishing a fake news stating she faced harassment in the Tamil industry
Actress Nithya Menen has established herself as a versatile actress, not only in the south industry but also in the Hindi entertainment industry. Having made a mark with her charming smile, acting chops and fashion statements, it was heavily reported that she had a horrible encounter while working in the Tamil industry. A news portal ‘Buzz Basket’ has quoted the actress from a recent interview and stated that she was harassed by a Tamil actor during a shoot. They had gone on to quote her saying, “I've faced a lot of problems in the Tamil film industry.”
Well, the news shortly went viral and a reporter reached out to the 35-year-old actress to cross check the facts. As reported by DNA, the actress denied the rumours of harassment when the reporter reached out to her. She then proceeded to take matters in her own hands and slammed the media publication for spreading fake news. Taking to her official social media handle, she shared a screenshot of the news and called out the portal. While the post has been deleted, Menen and her fans have also reported the account.
Taking to Instagram, Nithya wrote, “We are all here for such a short period of time . It always surprises me how much wrong we do to each other :) I point this out today because only accountability stops bad behaviour. Be better humans thebuzzbasket ursbuzzbasket letscinema and all the others who have followed this bandwagon. #stopfakenews.”
Furious fans took to the comment section of her post to slam the publication and hail the actress for taking a stand by calling them out. One wrote, “We are reporting this account... But i think they deleted the post... Still reported it as a scam.” Another wrote, “They never talk positive about anyone unless it's #nagasourya #ysjagan please check that page once you'll get the picture..”
On the work front, the actress will be next seen in a Telugu series Kumari Srimathi, which will premiere on Prime Video. Streaming from September 28, the series has also been dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam.
