Mahesh Babu To Play Lord Hanuman-Inspired Character In SS Rajamouli’s Ramayana-Verse Trilogy-REPORTS
South superstar Mahesh Babu is all set to star in critically acclaimed filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s upcoming project - a new Ramayana-verse. The director is widely known for his vision and love for Indian mythology and has reportedly roped in South sensation Mahesh Baby for an African jungle adventure that is said to have been inspired by Lord Hanuman.

A Pinkvilla report suggests that Mahesh Babu is already touted to appear in Rajamouli’s next, however, the film is still in the writing stage. Nevertheless, Babu’s character is already finalised, which will be similar to that of Lord Hanuman from Ramayana.

The source was also quoted as saying that although Mahesh Babu's character is inspired by Lord Hanuman, SS Rajamouli will have his own creative spin to it and incorporate mythological stories in the film just like he did in RRR.

Meanwhile, the entertainment giant companies are fighting for it’s rights. The buzz is that Disney would be backing the SS Rajamouli film, Sony Pictures too has reportedly jumped into the picture to get a hold of the highly coveted title.

Interestingly, the reports for the upcoming film have been circulating for the last two years.

In 2021, writer KV Vijayendra Prasad, in an interview, said that he has been exploring the idea of an African jungle adventure with his son, Rajamouli.

As per the reports, he was initially exploring the genre though it seems that the film is close to being finalised. It is expected to be an epic which matches the likes of Indiana Jones and Jumanji. Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli are yet to confirm their collaboration.
