Mahesh Babu's elder brother Ramesh Babu left for his heavenly abode on January 8, 2022, in Hyderabad after a prolonged liver-related illness. He was 56.  According to multiple reports, Ramesh was suffering from liver-related problems for a long time. Confirming the sad news, producer BA Raju shared an official statement from the Ghattamaneni family that read, “It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Ramesh Babu garu. He will continue to live on in our hearts forever.  We request all our well-wishers to adhere to the COVID norms and avoid gathering at the cremation venue.”

The tragic demise of Ramesh Babu comes as a big shock to the entire film fraternity. Many celebrities including, Chiranjeevi took to Twitter to mourn the sad demise. He tweeted, “Shocked and deeply saddened by the demise of Shri.G.Ramesh babu. My heartfelt condolences to Shri.Krishna garu , @urstrulyMahesh  and all the family members. May the Almighty give strength to the family to cope with the tragic loss.”



'Fidaa' fame Varun Tej offered his deepest condolences to the family and wrote, “Saddened by the untimely demise of Shri G. Ramesh Babu Garu. My deepest condolences to the family.Om Shanthi!."  Film director Ramesh Varma shared a throwback picture of Ramesh and tweeted, “Shocked to hear this, Ramesh Babu garu was no more Condolences to Krishna Garu, Mahesh babu Garu & entire family. Om Shanti.”

Ramesh Babu ventured into acting as a child artist at the age of 12. In 1987, he made his debut with his first solo hero role in ‘Samraat’ and retired from acting in 1997, after featuring in 15 films. Ramesh later donned the hat of producer and has bankrolled films like ‘Arjun’ and ‘Athidhi’, which starred his brother Mahesh Babu in lead roles.
