Love Story Starring Naga Chaitanya & Sai Pallavi, Rana Daggubati's Virata Parvam To Reschedule Their Release Dates?
Given the current situation of our country, it is clear that the virus which has been affecting us since last year is here to stay longer than expected. The second wave of this deadly virus is not only taking lives but also affecting a lot of businesses. As a precautionary measure in some parts of the country, the theaters have been asked to close down while states like Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are running low-budget movies with small numbers of people. Venu Sriram directorial Vakeel Saab, a legal drama released on 9th April 2021 also suffered loss due to the semi-lockdown.

In the given scenario any film will fall prey to a huge loss if it decides to release in theatres during this difficult period. To avoid losing out on business Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi's romantic drama Love Story, Nani, Ritu Varma, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Jagapathi Babu starrer action drama Tuck Jagadish, Sai Pallavi, Rana Daggubati, Priyamani and Nandita Das's period drama Virata Parvam, Action film Acharya staring Chiranjeevi, Kajal Aggarwal, Ram Charan, Pooja Hegde, and Ravi Teja, Arjun Sarja, Unni Mukundan, Meenakshi Chaudhary action thriller drama Khiladi, etc are all postponed and have rescheduled the release dates to July. However, the official announcement is yet to come.

The shooting of Radha Krishna Kumar directorial Radhe Shyam starring Prabahs and Pooja Hegde has also been stalled as the actor's make-up man tested covid positive. Due to this the film which was slated to release in July may not be able to release on the said date. Action-packed drama K.G.F: Chapter 2 starring Kannada star Yash will be rescheduled from July to later months too. The film is touted to be the most expensive Kannada movie.

Though most filmmakers would like to release their films on OTT, the makers of the above films are not ready to let go of their time and hard work by launching it on the OTT platform. They are aiming to have a big theatrical release even if it means waiting for some more time as the situation comes in control.

If the issue doesn't cool down the filmmakers may follow the strategy of Salman Khan starrer Radhe by choosing a hybrid release. According to the ‘The Hybrid release model’ the movies will release overseas and at the same time stream on the basis of Pay-per-view utility on ZEEPlex, Tata Sky, D2H, Dish, and Airtel, etc. Salman Khan, Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda, and Jackie Shroff's Radhe is a highly anticipated movie of 2021 which is slated to release in theatres and OTT platforms in concomitantly.
