Actress Anjali has made a name for herself in the Tamil and Telugu entertainment industry with her versatile performances. On Thursday, the netizens took a stand for her and lashed out at veteran actor and politician, Nandamuri Balakrishna also known as Balayya for roughly pushing her during the pre-release event of her upcoming film ‘Gangs of Godavari’. A video of the incident immediately went viral and left the netizens enraged. Many even pointed out how the veteran wouldn’t be held accountable for his ‘rude and ‘disrespectful behaviour’ as he is also a lawmaker.

As the Tollywood actor started getting bashed left, right, and center, hours after videos of the incident went viral, Anjali took to her official social media handle and expressed her gratitude towards Balayya attending the event. Sharing a video compilation of the pre-release event on her X (formerly known as Twitter) handle, she schooled the naysayers and informed them that she shared a “great friendship” with the actor. She added, “I would like to express that Balakrishna garu and I have always maintained mutual respect for each other and we share a great friendship from a long time. Fans were quick to take to the comment section of her tweet to tell her that it is too late to post a ‘clarification’ and defend him, hours after the video went viral. One wrote, “Long Live Feminism!” Another wrote, “Too late to defend him now.” Other one wrote, “Forced tweet! 😂 that’s okay it’s ur choice!! But deep down inside uk what happened! 😌” One commented, “Anjali, quickly blink eyes twice if you need our help and get saved.” Another commented, “I understand you can't go against the system...because the system is under control , You deserve better.....
