Vijay Sethupathi’s upcoming role as Vaathiyaar in Viduthalai is based on a real-life story
From the day of VetriMaaran’s first look poster of Viduthalai was released, the audiences and media people have started to guess about the film. Some announced that Vijay Sethupathi will play a professor and some guess he will play the role of Veerappan. As per the reports from sources, the film is not based on the life of Veerappan.
As per the information from reliable sources, Vijay Sethupathi is playing the role of a real-life person. The source also/ informed “There was a person named Vaathiyaar in the ’80s, who was part of the Tamil Desiyam Group. He was a teacher, who did many good deeds. Vijay Sethupathi plays him in the film. In fact, the story also revolves around his character and his work. The team has tried to recreate his look for Vijay Sethupathi.”
The source further informed that they have recently done a shooting of a few of the scenes of the film in Sathyamangalam and Chengalpattu. The source further informed that - “In Chengalpattu, they’d erected a huge police camp and shot there for over 20 days. Once the Covid-19 cases come down, the team will again head to Sathyamangalam to complete the last leg of shoot.” Music is composed by Illaiyaraaja and he has already composed three songs for the film.
