With the anticipation surrounding his Sriram Raghavan film alongside Katrina Kaif, Vijay, now a favourite among Hindi cinema fans, is relishing the admiration coming his way. In an interview with indianexpress.com, he discloses his consciousness about attire, as he has a habit of sporting "chappals" at gatherings, functions, and meetings. Despite being praised for his acting prowess, Vijay often becomes a topic of online discussion due to his preference for simple casual attire and "chappals" at prominent Bollywood events. Acknowledging the impact of such chatter, the actor admits it makes him self-conscious about his modest fashion selections.




Reflecting on his journey into the Hindi film industry and winning the hearts of Hindi-speaking audiences, Vijay admits that initially, he never envisioned working in Bollywood. He expresses, "There were no such plans. I'm not someone who sets concrete plans; I believe in staying open because surprises may come your way." Recounting his unexpected opportunities, he mentions, "When I met Sriram Raghavan for Merry Christmas, I never imagined I would work alongside Katrina Kaif. Mumbaikar is a remake, and even for Farzi, I hadn't anticipated collaborating with Raj and DK. However, I had an excellent experience working with them."

Merry Christmas also stars Katrina Kaif and is slated to release on January 12.
