Mansoor Ali Khan's defamation suit on Trisha Krishnan backfires as the Madras court levied a penalty of Rs 1 lakh on the Leo star citing the plea as a publicity stunt
Following actor Mansoor Ali Khan's statement about filing a defamation case against actors Trisha, Chiranjeevi, and Kushboo Sundar, the Madras High Court recently declined to authorize his request. According to Bar and Bench, the court dismissed the defamation suit, citing that it appeared to be more of a publicity gimmick than a genuine legal action. Furthermore, the court levied a penalty of Rs 1 lakh on the actor. According to the report, the court instructed the actor to deposit this sum to the Adyar Cancer Institute in Chennai. Additionally, the court expressed that the responses from Trisha and the other parties towards Mansoor's statement were in line with the reactions expected from any ordinary person. In the prior hearing on December 11, Justice Kumar commented that it seemed evident at first glance that Trisha was the party who had been wronged. The court further noted that it should have been her who initiated the legal action by approaching the court. Mansoor recently petitioned the high court, seeking approval to file a civil defamation lawsuit against Trisha, Chiranjeevi, and Kushboo. He alleged that they misconstrued a joke he made and presented it out of context, resulting in defamatory remarks against him on various social media platforms.

During a promotional press event for his film Leo, Mansoor made derogatory remarks about Trisha, sparking criticism from Chiranjeevi, Khushbu, Trisha, and the Leo movie team on various platforms. In response to Mansoor's comments, Trisha took to social media to express her disapproval, stating, "I recently came across a video where Mr. Mansoor Ali Khan made vile and disrespectful comments about me. I vehemently denounce his sexist, disrespectful, and repugnant behavior. I am thankful to have never worked alongside someone as pathetic as him, and I will ensure it remains so throughout my entire film career. Individuals like him tarnish humanity's reputation."
