Latha Rajinikanth Kochadaiiyaan Forgery Case: Rajinikanth’s Wife Granted Conditional Bail By Bengaluru High Court
A Bengaluru court has granted conditional bail to Latha Rajinikanth, wife of Tamil actor Rajinikanth, who faced allegations in a forgery case related to the film 'Kochadaiiyaan' from 2014. Latha Rajinikanth appeared before the Magistrate court in Bengaluru on December 26 and submitted a discharge application in the case. The court has adjourned the hearing to January 6. She was granted bail on the condition of posting a personal bond of Rs.1 lakh along with a cash surety of Rs.25,000. Additionally, she was instructed not to tamper with evidence or influence witnesses as per the court's directives.

Thalaivar's wife faced charges under Sections 196, 199, 463, 420, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. Her discharge application was contested by the complainant, citing the non-bailable nature of Section 463 of the IPC and her lack of bail at that time. The high court instructed her to personally appear before the court by January 6, 2024. The complaint against Latha was filed by Ad Bureau Advertising, a Chennai-based company involved in financial dealings with M/s Mediaone Global Entertainment Ltd, the producer of the film featuring Rajinikanth. The movie's director was Latha Rajinikanth's daughter.

Latha Rajinikanth allegedly guaranteed Mediaone Global Entertainment Ltd to Ad Bureau Advertising, failing to fulfill it after the film faced losses. She obtained an injunction against 70 media houses from circulating false information about the financial transaction. The court dismissed her injunction suit in 2015. Subsequently, Ad Bureau Advertising filed a private complaint, alleging the use of a false document in Latha Rajinikanth's earlier injunction suit.
