Malayalam Actor Mamukkoya PASSES Away At 77; Veteran Was Hospitalised After Her Collapsed During An Inauguration Ceremony- REPORTS
Renowned veteran Malayalam actor Mamukkoya left for his heavenly abode on Wednesday afternoon. He breathed his last at around 1:10 pm in a hospital in Kozhikode. He was hospitalized there on Monday night after he collapsed while attending the inauguration ceremony of the Poongod Janakeeya Sevens Football Tournament in the Malappuram district.

According to India TV, he was immediately rushed to the hospital after he collapsed. A mob had gathered around him for a selfie, when he complained of discomfort. The actor then fainted on the football pitch. Once hospitalised, the officials stated that he was in good condition. It was on Wednesday morning that the doctors informed his family about his deteriorating health condition. While he was kept on a ventilator he passed away in the afternoon. 

It is being reported that he suffered a heart attack, however anything on his passing is yet to be officially mentioned by his doctors or family members. 


Trade Analyst Sreedhar Pillai, took to Twitter to share the heart breaking news with the veteran actor’s fans. He wrote, “#Mamukkoya (77), one of the finest comedy actors ever in Malayalam cinema passed away. Who can forget this Kozhikode man, the epicentre of laughter in so many films? #RIP”

For the unversed, before starting his journey as an actor, the veteran worked in a timber mill at Kozhikode. He started his journey through theatre and has starred in over 450 Malayalam films. He has won over two state awards. Mamukkoya will surely be remembered by the audience for his Malabar dialect which left the fans in splits and his physical appearance.
