Veteran Malayalam actor Mela Raghu, featured lastly in Drishyam 2, passed away in a hospital during his treatment at Kochi. As per the reports he was 60 years aged and was suddenly collapsed, thereafter rushed to hospital. He was admitted to the hospital for emergency treatment and was put on a life support ventilator when his health started deteriorating critically.  

Mela Raghu started an acting career in Mollywood in 1980 with the film titled “Mela”. He essayed the role of a clown and played a protagonist in it. The movie “Mela” made history in cinema because a dwarf actor was given a lead role for the very first time. The massive success of the "Mela” movie was the reason to change his name from Puthanveli Sasidharan to Mela Raghu as a screen name. The actor acted in about 30 movies, name a few are – “Jwaalaamukhi", "Manassoru Maanthrikakkuthirayaay", "Neelakkuda Choodi Maanam" "Shilpakalaa". 

The late actor also shared screen space with Kamal Haasan in “Apoorva Sagodharargal”, released in 1989. Mela Raghu's sudden demise brought a shock to everyone in Mollywood. His fans and celebrities took to social media to pay their homage to the late actor.
