Veteran Kannada Actor Mandeep Roy Passes Away At 72 After Suffering A Massive Heart Attack
Veteran Kannada actor Mandeep Roy has left for his heavenly abode. He breathed his last on Sunday, early in the morning, after suffering a massive heart attack. He passed away at the age of 72 in Bengaluru. If reports are to be believed, he had previously suffered from a heart attack in December 2022 and had received treatment for the same. His loss has left the Sandalwood industry in deep shock. 

As reported by India Today, the late actor, who was known for his impeccable timing was laid to rest at the Hebbal Crematorium after his mortal remains were kept for public homage. Roy left behind an illustrious career of more than four decades and over 500 movies. The Kannada industry has taken to social media to express their condolences to the family. 

Actor, director and producer Venkat Bharadwaj paid tribute to him and wrote, "Mandeep Roy | Originally Bengali, Settled and Acted in Kannada Film Industry, Closely Connected to #Kannada #People He is Unforgettable in #Pushpaka Vimana #RIP #MandeepRoy #KFI #Kannada (sic)."


Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa wrote, “The death of veteran actor Mandeep Roy, who acted in more than 500 films, is a painful event for the Kannada film industry. I pray to God to give his family strength to bear this pain.”


For the unversed, the late actor-comedian made his debut with Minchina Oota in 1982. Coming from a theatre background, he made a mark for himself with movies like Yelu Suthika Kote, Geetha, Kushi, Kurigaalu Saar Kurugaalu, Benkiya Balle, Akashmika, Accident, Pushpaka Vimana, Aptha Rakshaka and many others.

The legend will be surely missed by the fans and the industry.
