The Karnataka Police detained Kannada filmmaker and actor Darshan Thoogudeepa for allegedly being involved in Renuka Swamy’s horrific murder case. On Wednesday, the police officials took four people linked with him to the crime scene and visually recreated the incident at the canal location where Swamy’s remains were discovered on June 8. According to a report by India.com, the identities of the individuals remain confidential. The report adds that these associates hold a firm connection to the filmmaker.

It is mentioned in the reports that Karnataka police stumbled upon CCTV evidence from the day of the murder. Thoogudeepa’s car was spotted near the spot where the deceased’s remains were found. A Scorpio car was spotted in the tapes in the wee hours of June 9, reportedly carrying Swamy’s body and the filmmaker’s associates disposing of it. It is to be noted that the clip also showcased a car attached to Darshan. The report states that it is unclear whether he was in the car during the incident. For those who don’t know, Renuka Swamy worked at one of the Apollo Pharmacy outlets in Chitradurga. He was found dead on June 8 at the Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru. The culprits earlier wanted to hide their wrongdoings by disposing of his body in the Vrushabhavati valley, however, their plans were disturbed by the local dogs. Reportedly, he used to send vulgar texts to Kannada actress Pavithra Gowda, an acquaintance of Darshan. After Renuka was brutally murdered, his remains were discarded in a canal in Kamaksshipalya, Bengaluru.

The investigation of the case is underway, with Darshan being under 6-day police detention. Several media reports suggest that a total of 8 individuals are pointing fingers at Darshan Thoogudeepa and stating that he had a hand in Renuka Swamy’s assault, which led to his death.
