Renowned Punjabi actress Neeru Bajwa embarked on her acting journey in 1998 with the film "Main Solah Baras Ki." Since then, she has showcased her acting prowess in numerous hit films. Her notable performances include roles in popular Punjabi movies such as "Jatt & Juliet," "Sardaar Ji," "Shadaa," and "Laung Laachi," among others. Looking ahead, she is set to appear in upcoming films like "Shayar" and "Jatt & Juliet 3" alongside Diljit Dosanjh. However, before that, she opened up about the struggles her family faced while making ends meet during her childhood.

In an interview with Lallantop Cinema, Neeru Bajwa candidly discussed her family's struggles during her childhood. Recalling that time, Neeru revealed how her father worked at a gas station in Canada despite having a medical degree, which was not recognized in Canada. Consequently, her father had to take on various odd jobs. Neeru shared, “My father had a degree, but at that time, Canada did not recognize that degree. In India, he was a doctor. He worked at a farm where he would pluck berries. Then he worked at a gas station. Then he started driving a cab. After saving some money, he bought a cab and later bought another cab.”

Neeru mentioned that not only her father but also her mother had to endure many struggles after moving to Canada from Punjab. Both her parents took up several odd jobs during the most challenging phases of their lives to make ends meet and ensure their children could attend a private school. Sharing more on this, Neeru got emotional and stated that her mother worked at a hotel in the housekeeping department even when she was pregnant with her. Revealing how she pampers her mother now, she added, “I take her to that hotel quite often now when we go for staycations and pamper her now.”

In the same conversation, Neeru recalled that she started working when she was only nine years old. She elaborated on the various jobs she undertook to support her family. “I used to go on a newspaper route with my cousin, and we would get paid. Then I worked as a photographer in a studio, that didn’t require much skill. It was like clicking a passport size photo. I was a salesperson at a mall, and I used to get a minimum wage of $8 there. My last job in Vancouver was working as a cashier at a grocery store.”

Neeru Bajwa is married to Indian-Canadian businessman Harry Jawandha. They tied the marital knot in 2015. Soon after a few months into their wedding, the couple welcomed their first child, Aanaya Kaur Jawandha, into their lives. Later, in 2020, the actress embraced motherhood for the second time and gave birth to twin daughters, Aakira and Aalia.
