Singer-actor Gippy Grewal along with 100 crew members was booked for breaking COVID-19 rules in Patiala as he shot for a film
A few days after actor Jimmy Sheirgill and crew members of a web series were booked for breaking the COVID-19 rules and shooting in Ludhiana, now Punjabi singer and actor Gippy Grewal has come under the radar. The singer-actor was arrested with some of his crew members for flouting COVID-19 rules in Banur located in Punjab's Patiala district. As per reports in Hindustan times, the actor was shooting for a film, turning a blind eye to the COVID-19 restriction that has attracted severe repercussions.
As per reports they were released on bail. The police official informed 100 people were seen at the shooting location for a shoot despite the lockdown imposed in the state over the weekend. The official also shared arresting the singer and some of the crew members under section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the IPC, relevant sections of the Epidemic Diseases Act and the Disaster Management Act has been registered at Banur police station.
Sharing more deets about the shoot that led to violation of lockdown rules was taking place in a senior secondary school located near a vegetable market during the night curfew, informed Station House Officer (Kotwali) Sub-Inspector Maninder Kaur. He shared getting a tip about this shoot, followed by the police officials reaching the location and nabbing them.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many film shoots have come to a halt, meanwhile, TV show makers have moved their shooting base to different states in order to continue shooting by keeping their cast and crew in a bio-bubble for safety reasons.
