WATCH: Dharmendra & Zeenat’s ‘O Meri Mehbooba’ Fukrey Style
The first song of Fukrey Returns is out and shows the boy gang -- Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Ali Fazal and Manjot Singh – grooving to the beats of the iconic O Meri Mehbooba
The makers have released the FIRST song of Fukrey
Returns, Mehbooba, starring Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Ali Fazal and Manjot
Singh.
Set in a club, the track brings back Dharam Veer’s O
Meri Mehbooba which showcased Dharmendra and Zeenat with a contemporary touch.
The song has been rendered by Neha Kakkar and Yasser
Desai, while lyrics have been penned by Kumaar. The number also incorporates
rap by Raftaar.
Talking about the promotional song, Ritesh Sidhwani
(co-producer) had told a leading daily, “It's the first song in the film and
comes at a crucial point in the narrative as Part 2 starts exactly one year
after the original ended. Richa's lady don, Bholi Punjaban, is in jail and
Hunny, Choocha, Lali and Zafar are enjoying life, believing the past is behind
them, when lives spirals downwards. It is picturised on the four boys.”
Pulkit Samrat In Mehbooba Song
When asked if he is keeping up with the trend of remaking
yesteryear melodies, the producer had said, “I don't know about trend as it
depends on the film and its requirement. It worked for Kala Chashma and for
Judwaa 2. Even in Don we kept Khaike Paan and Yeh Mera Dil. Thanks to
technology we can retain the melody while making it slightly more
contemporary.”
To talk of the teaser, the Fukrey gang left us splits
with their antics. The
2- minute video begins with ‘Chucha’ Varun Sharma’s character being termed the
predictor of the century. The plot takes a turn when Richa Chadda aka Bholi returns to seek revenge from the
four guys.
