After creating a flutter with its trailer, the makers of
Sui Dhaaga have dropped its first track. Titled Chaav Laaga, it chronicles the
journey of Mamta (Anushka Sharma) and Mauji’s (Varun Dhawan) journey as they go
from being life partners to business partners. The song, which is EXCLUSIVE on 9XM from today till Wednesday afternoon, sees the couple being
each other’s support system during the turbulent times. The soothing number has
been penned by Varun Grover on Anu Malik’s music. The vocals are by Papon and
Ronkini, whose song Rafu (Tumhari Sulu) garnered much appreciation.
Talking about taking up a realistic character in Sui
Dhaaga, Varun had told a section of the media, “The clothes are on our body and
made by these people, so they bring the biggest change in our lives. They
change our moods the way they make the clothes. They need to be given importance.
It is about the entrepreneurship, about young India and it’s about make in
India…things made in India.”
A few days ago, we had told you that Sui Dhaaga logo is made in 15 different styles. Manan Mehta,
VP – Marketing and Merchandising, YRF had said, “To position our film Sui
Dhaaga – Made in India, we realised that it was just not enough to act like a
film marketeer. In fact we had to look at ourselves as a team marketing the art
and handicraft culture of our country. With this embodiment of our strategy we
needed an idea that would be the fulcrum of our entire campaign. And what could
be a better idea than inviting the artisans of our country to design the logo
of our film. We reached out to 15 uniquely skilled artists/artist groups across
the lengths and breadths of our nation who helped us design our film logo. It
has been an exhaustive and most rewarding experience for all of us at YRF. It
has taken six months to plan, research and execute our logo in 15 different
styles that celebrates our country’s diversity and entrepreneur spirit.” Coming
back to the song, Chaav Laaga is sure to find a place in your playlist and is
worth humming along.
