Sonu Nigam not only acknowledged the similarities but also extended an apology to Omer Nadeem. He candidly addressed the unintentional resemblance between his song and Omer's creation, expressing deep respect for Omer's work and asserting that the resemblances were coincidental. Sonu clarified on Instagram, sharing, "Just so you all know, I have nothing to do with this. I was requested to do the song by KRK (Kamaal R Khan), who is my neighbour in Dubai. And then couldn't refuse him, even though I don't sing for everyone." Additionally, he mentioned, "If I had heard Omer's version, I would have never sung it." Omer responded graciously, stating, "I agree with you; I never stated anywhere in my statement that you did this. The news took a different turn, as it often does. I've grown up listening to your songs and have learned a lot from you. I am your huge fan. Love you!" The track "Sun Zara," a collaboration between DJ Sheizwood and Kamaal R Khan (KRK), was released by T-Series on December 2. Soon after its release, Pakistani singer Omer Nadeem pointed out similarities between Sonu's rendition and his 2009 song, "Aye Khuda." Notably, the credits for "Sun Zara" did not mention Omer, sparking accusations of plagiarism from fans and escalating the controversy.
