Ye Awaaz Hai is a soft number that encapsulates the transformation of the lead character, played by Kirti Kulhari, from a shy girl to a rebel. The song describes her journey, her love life and her struggle for freedom from oppression.
Soaked in lilting music by Anu Malik, and sensitive lyrics by Puneet Sharma, Ye Awaaz Hai is a tribute to the resilient power of women who fought against the emergency in 1975. The powerful vocals have been lent by Monali Thakur.

Two years after Calendar Girls, Madhur Bhandarkar is back with Indu Sarkar, which revolves around the 1975 Emergency, the 21-month period when Prime Minister Indira Gandhi announced a state of emergency.

Apart from Kriti, Indu Sarkar also stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Tota Roy Chowdhury and Anupam Kher.
The film has stirred a hornet’s nest with Youth Congress leader, Haseeb Ahmad recently taking to Twitter to announce: “Blacken Indu Sarkar director Madhur Bhandrakar’s face and win Rs 1 lakh (sic).”

Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia
had expressed strong reservations against the film, saying that it is a propaganda film for the ruling party, BJP .
Then Congress Chief Sanjay Nirupam demanded a viewing of Indu Sarkar before it is certified.
Amidst all these controversies Indu Sarkar is set to hit theatres on July 28.
