Here’s a shocking piece of new coming in from Delhi. A 51-year-old man has been arrested for alleged opening fire outside famous singer and BJP MP Hans Raj Han’s Office in Rohini, Delhi, yesterday. According to police, the man has been has been identified Rameshwar Pehalwan, who’s a wrestling coach at a Delhi University college for the past 23 years. As seen in the video, the man fired two shots outside the office of Hans.
Leading news portal ANI’s Twitter handle posted the video on social media and wrote, “#WATCH Delhi: A 51-year-old, Rameshwar Pehalwan fired 2 shots outside the office of BJP MP Hans Raj Hans in Rohini, today. He was arrested later. A case has been registered under section 336 and 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).”
As seen in the video, the man can be seen wearing a saffron kutra with white pyjamas. The man was reportedly drunk and was driving an alto car. After arresting him, Delhi Police has recovered the vehicle and weapon - a .32 bore.
According to witnesses, the man came in a car and left the spot after firing in the air. The man was soon arrested. Personal grouse appears to be the motive behind the incident and further investigations are on, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) S D Mishra said, adding the vehicle and the licensed weapon has been seized, reports News 18.
Talking about the same, Hans Raj Hans termed the firing a "cowardly act" and demanded a thorough probe into the incident. A Delhi BJP statement quoted Hans also said, “I have no personal enmity with anyone. But I have been consistently exposing anti-people policies of the ruling party in Delhi. So it is possible that someone annoyed with this may have effected the incident.”
