Bajne Do Night & Day: Shaan Says “Happy Music Is My Favourite Genre”
One of the most prolific male voices in the last two decades has been that of Shaan. On the occasion of World Music Day, 9X Media caught up with him and spoke about what music means to him and how it's transformed his life for the better...
Shaan has been one of the most popular singers of Bollywood since the late 1990s. Having begun with music albums, he soon shifted over to film music, and within no time, he was swimming in the big league with the likes of Sonu Nigam, Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Abhijeet and others.
As we continue our celebration of World Music Day, we bring you a one-on-one chat with the music maestro himself. In a tete-a-tete, Shaan speaks up about what music means to him, his favourite genres and why he decided to be a part of the new party anthem, Bajne Do Night & Day. Watch the interview right here:
"Music is my greatest and closest companion," says Shaan. "Music is there always in my life. Only when I am sleeping, that's when there is no music," adds Shaan.
Talking about Bajne Do Night And Day, he says, "This song has the whole disco club dance base in the happy space. So I loved it. Happy is my genre."
So what plans for the world music day celebrations? "I have been catching up on music from various parts of the world. So, I think I will just close my eyes and point towards one country on the map and listen to music from that part of the world. That would be how I would like to enjoy this special day." All this and lots more in the interview right above!
