Veteran Marathi actor Vijay Kadam left for his heavenly abode on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at the age of 67. He reportedly passed away at his home after battling cancer. A report by the Free Press Journal states that the actor’s last rites will be taking place in Mumbai. For the past year and a half, Kadam fought cancer. However, despite overcoming the illness, his health condition worsened as the cancer relapsed. The late legendary actor was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Andheri, Mumbai.

Actor Anjikya Deo took to his official social media handle to inform the fans about Kadam’s untimely demise. Taking to his X (formerly known as Twitter), he wrote, “Sad to inform the demise of a very fine actor a dear friend Vijay Kadam May his soul rest in peace.” The news has come as a shock to the netizens who expressed their condolences. 

For those who don’t know, Kadam was a well-known and celebrated actor in the Marathi entertainment industry. He had a prolific career spanning several decades and made a name for himself with his versatile performances. He was a prominent figure in Marathi films and television serials during the 1980s and 90s, apart from that he also performed in various Marathi stage productions and Hindi movies. 


Vijay Kadam was seen in projects like Aanandi Aanand, Tere Mere Sapne, Dekhni Bayko Namyachi, Revati, Topi Ghala Re, Bluffmaster, Bhet Tuji Maji, and Monkey Baat. Apart from many serials, he was also a part of many plays, namely - Tur Tur, Pappa Sanga Kunache, Vichha Majhi Puri Kara, and Sahi De Sahi.
