Sonalee Kulkarni-Kunal Benodkar Wedding: Hirkani Actress Ties The Knot In A Small Yet Elegant Ceremony Amidst Lockdown In Dubai

The leading Marathi actress Sonalee Kulkarni tied the knot with Kunal Benodekar on the day of her birthday on Tuesday in Dubai. Reportedly, the event was a small yet elegant affair in Dubai due to lockdown restrictions where parents and relatives attended the ceremony online. The couple was supposed to get married in the month of June in the UK, but due to the restrictions on travel, the couple planned to postpone it to July. Increasing uncertainty in restrictions was wearing the couple off hence they gave a surprise to everyone by preponing the ceremony. The rituals were witnessed by very close friends and relatives in Dubai.

Sonalee Kulkarni took it to her Instagram and surprised her fans with the news that she is no longer single onwards. She posted a still picture in which she is wearing a mangalsutra and var mala with Kunal. She captioned the post - अब से हम ‘7’ ‘मे’ So, आम्ही June मध्ये uk ला लग्न करणार होतो Uk च्या second wave मुळे तारीख पुढे करावी लागली, मग venue च्या availability अनुसार July मधली तारीख ठरली. Kunal बरोबर बसून लग्नाच्या तयारीसाठी मी March मध्ये shooting संपवून Dubai ला आले, आणि भारतात second wave आली Not just मी पुन्हा एकदा दुबईत अडकले पण लग्न बंधनात ही! April मध्ये UK ने Indians साठी travel ban जाहीर केला. July पर्यंत परिस्थिती बदलणार नाही म्हणून.. Quarantine, travel restrictions, family साठी असणारी risk, एकंदरीत होणारा अनावश्यक खर्च, सरकार चे नियम, या सगळ्यांचा विचार करून आम्ही आमचा भला मोठा लग्न समारंभ cancel करायचा निर्णय घेतला. June चं July होतंय, म्हणून postpone करायच्या एैवजी July चं May मध्ये prepone करून सगळ्यांनाच सुखद धक्का देऊ. आम्ही आता एकत्र एका देशात आहोत, पुढे कधी काय होईल माहीत नाही. जगभरातली परिस्थिती पाहता आता एकमेकांची तब्येत जपून ‘लग्न’ जास्त महत्वाचं आहे ना की ‘समारंभ’. आपल्या देशात इतकी बिकट परिस्थिती असताना आम्ही कुठलंही celebration करूच शकत नाही, तो खर्च वाचवून कोणाला मदत करता यावी या सारखं भाग्य नाही आई-बाबांचा होकार घेऊन लगेच तयारीला लागलो. माझे आई-बाबा भारतात, कुणाल चे लंडन ला, कधी पुन्हा सगळे एकत्र येतील माहीत नाही...आताच शिक्का मोरतब करून टाकू. २ दिवसात सगळं ठरवलं. एका तासात खरेदी आणि १५ mins मध्ये ४ लोकांच्या साक्षीने मंदीरात, ( इथे Covid restrictions मुळे तेवढंच शक्य आहे) वरमाळ, मंगळसूत्र, कुंकू केवळ या ३ गोष्टी करून ( लग्नाच्या मान्यतेसाठी मंदीराकडून प्रमाणपत्र मिळवण्यासाठी आवश्यक असणाऱ्या विधी) Marriage Certificate वर sign केलं. इथे सगळ्या process आणि paperwork मध्ये आम्हाला मदत करणारे @rahultulpule @deepalitulpule यांचे आभार

As Sonalee informed, the plan of marriage was decided in two days. Then the couple managed to purchase for their special and a big day in one hour. They just finished the rituals of marriage in 15 minutes in a temple with four persons in tow as witnesses.
