Marathi Art Director Raju Sapte Dies By Suicide; Had Shared A Video Alleging Harassment Minutes Before Taking The Drastic Step
Raju Sapte, who was an art director in Marathi cinema and TV industry, has died by suicide. He took his own life at his house located in Pimpri Chinchwad township on Saturday allegedly due to harassment by a person associated with a labor union. Before taking this step, he shot a video of himself in which he named the person who he claimed had harassed him.

In the video, he said that he had been facing some issues for a few days and was being harassed by the person who is deliberately asking some laborer's to spread wrong message regarding payment defaults. He said, 'Namaskar, my name is Raju Sapte and I am an art director. I am not making this video in any intoxication. From the last few days, I have been harassed by Rakesh Maurya of the Labor Union. There are no complaints against me and I have cleared all payments of labors. Rakesh Maurya is provoking the labor people even though all the payments have been cleared. This has stuck with many of my projects.'

He further added that currently he has 5 projects but due to Rakesh he is unable to go ahead with his work. Raju said, 'Currently, I have 5 projects in my hand. But since Rakesh Maurya is inciting Labor people against me, I can't start any work. Recently, I had to leave my one project for the same reason. As a protest against this, I am committing suicide today.'
Wakad police station senior inspector Vivek Mugalikar said that recovered the video clip and his suicide note. 'We have registered abetment to suicide case. Further investigation is on,' he added. Sapte had worked as an art director for movies like 'Ambat God' and 'Manyaa the wonder boy'.
