The talented director-actor Nishikant Kamat passed away in a Hyderabad hospital earlier today, following liver complications. He was battling chronic liver disease and succumbed to the same after struggling on life support at the age of 50. As told by Marathi actor Jaywant Wadkar to a leading newspaper, a close associate of Nishikant Kamat revealed the sad news to him and they are facilitating the process to Nishikant’s mortal remains to Mumbai.

Nishikant Kamat made his directorial debut with Marathi movie Dombivali Fast in the year 2005 that won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi. His first Bollywood debut was Mumbai Meri Jaan in 2008. This opened the gates for his talent in Bollywood. Later he gave various hits like Force, Drishyam, Rocky Handsome, and Madaari in Hindi. He also helmed Riteish Deshmukh starrer Lai Bhaari and Swwapnil Joshi’s Fugay. The web series The Final Call and Rangbaaz Phirse were his entry in the webs series world.
