Talking about the movie, Dithee will be the last project of veteran director, Sumitra Bhave. The movie tells us the cruel story of life and death. Dithee is a seemingly simple narrative about a tragic moment in the life of village ironsmith Ramji (Kishor Kadam). Shaking from the loss of his son drowning in an overflowing river, Ramji turns to spirituality to cope with his grief. Dithee inspires us to move forward in life even if we have a burden of sorrow and misery.
Amruta Subhash plays the role of Parubai in the film. Her character is tensed about a lost cow. For village folks, a cow is like a part of the family, it’s not just an animal. The husband is an emotional guy while the wife is a strong person who makes efforts to save the cow.
Amruta started her career with Sumitra Bhave, She did a short film, Chakori, with her when I was only 15. Now that she is no more, Amruta finds this film close to her heart.
Dithee is a Marathi drama about an untimely death, family, village life, farmer's love for their animals and so much more. It is directed by the late director, Sumitra Bhave, and the cast includes Mohan Agashe, Girish Kulkarni, Amruta Subhash, and Anjali Patil. The movie is now officially available on SonyLiv.
