Revoking Article 370 on Monday in the Rajyasabha, attracted reactions from everyone, Marathi stars too shared their views
‘Dr. Prakash Baba Amte’ star Sonali Kulkarni is the ultimate choice of Marathi and Hindi directors for portraying characters with intensity, depth and emotion; as she beautifully slips into diverse characters and gives them justice.
She has done a number of films spreading social messages like, ‘Bharat’ and ‘Singham’ in Hindi and ‘Dr. Prakash Baba Amte’ and ‘Gabhricha Paus’ in Marathi. She is known for her bold statements on contemporary socio-political issues which affect the society largely. This time she commented on the issue of ‘Kashmir’.
Monday saw a historic decision rolled out in Rajya Sabha, where Article 370 and 35 (a) was scrapped by the government, giving Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh the title of union territory and scrapping of the ‘special status’ that hindered its progress. Sonali Kulkarni tweeted in support of this view and prayed for the safety and harmony in J&K and Ladakh.

Praying for J&K citizens...May they finally breathe well deserved peace and harmony ☮️ 🇮🇳 Thank you Govt. of India 🙏 #370Scrapped
Sonali Kulkarni in her film ‘Mission Kashmir’ played the role of a Kashmiri woman who adopts a boy trapped in the ugly realities of terror stricken Kashmir. This film also gave her a close picture of the harsh life of Kashmiri citizens and she empathizes with their pain in these difficult times. Her support for this move of government is thus obvious. Not just Sonali but many stars in Bollywood and Marathi industry wholeheartedly welcome Kashmir in their tweets!
