The 66th National Film Awards for the year 2019 were presented today. Along with many winners like Akshay Kumar, Ayushmaan Khurana and Vicky Kaushal, was the flag bearer of the Marathi film industry, Adinath Kothare! 

The 66th National Film Awards for the year 2019 were declared in August, the presentation of the award at hands of the dignitaries happened today. Right before Akshay Kumar’s ‘Padman’, was Adinath Kothare’s directorial debut film, ‘Paani’. Adinath was felicitated by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu at Delhi's Vigyan Bhawan. 



Adinath Kothare, humbly accepted the award as his family cheered for him in the audience! This was a moment of pride not just for the cast and makers, it was a winning moment for all those who are struggling with the water crisis in India. The film is co-produced by Priyanka Chopra under Purple Pebble creations. It revolves around a man living in a village named Nagdarwadi, Maharashtra, a drought-prone Marathwada region. The struggle of our farmers, the obstacles in their lives and the present condition is accurately depicted in this film. 

'Paani' features stars Adinath Kothare, Subodh Bhave, Rucha Vaidya, Kishor Kadam, and Rajit Kapoor, etc. After 'Ventilator' that won three National Awards, Priyanka’s second venture in the Marathi industry, ‘Paani’ too gets a great honor in the 66th National Film Awards 2019. 

‘Paani’ will soon release in the year 2020. After being recognized worldwide for its excellence, ‘Paani’ is expected to rock box office next year!
