Date: Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on the Chaturthi Tithi. This year it will be celebrated on August 22.
Tithi: The auspicious Tithi begins at 11:02 PM on August 21 and ends at 7:57 PM on August 22.

People bring idols of lord Ganesha to their home and offer pray to him. They make modaks as Prasad for the god. The festival is mainly celebrated in Maharashtra.
