5 Reasons Why Deepika Rules The xXx: Return of Xander Cage Trailer
It’s an assassin, it’s a sniper, it’s Deepika ruling the xXx: Return of Xander Cage trailer! She’s single-handedly destroyed the token Asian troupe in Hollywood!
The latest trailer for the Vin Diesel-Deepika Padukone starrer xXx: Return of Xander Cage dropped last night and it finally proves that this is as much of a Vin Diesel film as it is a Deepika Padukone film. Here are 5 reasons we are super-excited about the film and the trailer.
This Is Deepika’s Film

Going by the trailer, Deepika’s role is a big one, and a central one. This one goes right into the list that previously had only Amrish Puri’s Mola Ram from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom in 1988 and Aishwarya Rai’s Pink Panther outing in 2009.
Deepika’s The Girl

In the trailer, Samuel L. Jackson helpfully regards Deepika as the girl and that’s an achievement in itself. Vin Diesel is one of the top stars in Hollywood today and the filmmakers could have roped in anyone to play Vin’s ‘Girl’. Hell, they have Ruby Rose in there, and still, Deepika’s the Girl.
Deepika’s Not the Damsel

Not that she ever played the role of a damsel in distress in Bollywood, but she’s not doing it in Hollywood too. The new trailer is littered with Deepika’s action sequences that are gonna soar. There’s even a sniper scene. Is Deepika the first Indian actress to have a sniper scene all to herself?
Deepika’s Kept Her Accent

Truth be told, you don’t go to America for a weekend and come back with an accent, neither do you lose your desi mojo the moment you go there. It was refreshing to see Deepika speak English in a marked Asian accent. More power to her!
And Taken Down a Brit

One of the many action scenes in the trailer shows her take down a Brit agent wearing a suit with a bow-tie. You know who that’s a mirror image of, right?
