The Raikar Case Review, Binge Or Cringe: This Atul Kulkarni, Neil Bhoopalam, Ashwini Bhave Starrer Has Enough Mystery To Keep You Intrigued
The Raikar Case starring an ensemble cast comprising of some well-known faces primarily from the Marathi film industry is all about the death of Naik Raikar. The puzzles that lead to the murderer are quite intriguing, so this one should feature on your watch list
Voot Select Originals has added yet another intriguing show to its April calendar – The Raikar Case. Starring a slew of stars like Atul Kulkarni, Neil Bhoopalam, Ashwini Bhave, Parul Gulati, Kunal Karan Kapoor, Manva Naik, and others along with Lalit Prabhakar, The Raikar Case is all about the untimely demise of Tarun Naik Raikar, youngest member of the Naik Raikar’s, Goa’s leading business family. How this sends police and the political set-up of the state into a tailspin is what forms the crux of the plot.
Investigating officer, John Pereira (Neil Bhoopalam), is determined that this is not suicide but a murder. His interrogation of a different family member in every episode, leads us to believe that each family member has a powerful motive to kill Tarun.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, The Raikar Case is a 7-episodic series. It also stars Reena Wadhwa, Honey Kamboj and Ajay Purkar in pivotal roles.
Known names like Ashivini Bhave (who makes a comeback after several years) and Lalit Prabhakar also deserve a special mention for shining out in this ensemble star cast. Atul Kulkarni, as always plays his part with full conviction. He plays both the suspect of a murder and a victim of politics convincingly!
For a mystery series, the show has many loose ends and the prolonged style of story-telling wouldn’t necessarily impress everyone. Each episode could have been edited in duration and made crisper, but the cliffhanger points do make up for it.
If you are a fan of mysteries and love to solve puzzles, then this one is for you. Our verdict is binge-worthy!
