Do you know the terms chlamydia, herpes and syphilis? If you’re unaware of these words then you need sex education. So, Netflix brings the second season of the popular show, Sex Education.
For starters, the first season was quite entertaining wherein the character of Otis begins an informal sex therapy session in school. Now, in the second season, we see Otis trying to control his sexual urges as he plans to take things ahead with his girlfriend Ola.
Then, we are shown an outbreak of Chlamydia at the Moordale Secondary School, which troubles the schoolmates endlessly thus highlighting the need for better sex education.
On the Beep Meter, we just want to say that the show’s title is self-explanatory. There’s nudity, there is abusive language, but nothing comes across as explicit which is the best part of the show. So, just in case, you’re caught red handed watching the show, you can always say that you were just trying to educate yourself.
Finally, is it Bingeworthy? So the second part isn’t limited to sex alone as it also includes childhood trauma, parental abandonment and loss of identity. So apart from Otis, the show also focuses on other characters and their problems.
You know what’s the best part of this show? It doesn’t come across as too preachy and maintains the emotional balance throughout.
The ensemble cast has performed brilliantly- Asa Butterfield, Gillian Anderson, Emma Mackey, Ncuti Gatwa are a treat to watch. Sex Education Season 2 is definitely binge-worthy and the show makes adult content seem sweet and charming.
