Days after the makers of the show announced the second season, he has now opened up about his experience of working with the ace filmmaker and how he was cast in one of the leading roles of the show. The 36-year-old actor added, “Two weeks later, when I was on my way to sign the contract, I get a call saying, ‘We’re really sorry, but sir has decided to go another way with you, and you might not be getting this role’.” Feeling gutted, he reached the Bajirao Mastani filmmaker’s office. without giving Bhansali a chance to speak, Taha pleaded with him not to fire him. The 61-year-old filmmaker asked him to have a seat, take a deep breath, and try for the role of Tajdar instead of a minor character. Taha went on to relive the weeks when he was waiting for a call back from Bhansali’s team. He would call up the casting director Shruti Mahajan to get updated. He went on to recall how as he was waiting for an update from Bhansali, he was offered 3 other projects.
