Day 9 of lockdown period kick started on an amazing news from OTT giant, Netflix. Web show, The Witcher who took us back in the medieval era, is all set for its following season. Netflix just confirmed of its second season and we can already feel the joy and thrill among show’s fans. The plot and story-telling of this drama and fantasy was compared to Game of Thrones. Coming back to the deets of second season, makers aim to premiere it in the beginning of 2021, however, the date is not yet confirmed.
“We don’t but have a goal launch date for season 2, previous 2021,” was said by Lauren S. Hissrich as per Reddit AMA. Though the wait is longer almost of 12 months between the first and second season, we can say good things take time. The first season of this web show had debuted on the OTT platform on December 20, 2019. This eight episode web show kept the audience hooked to it, thus ultimately making it binge watch worthy post its premiere on the OTT platform.
As per reports in digitalwise.com, Lauren Schmidt Hissrich shedding light on the upcoming season’s plot was quoted saying, “We will get into some material from Blood of Elves. But I also believe there are things that we needed to take from The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny that we didn’t do. There will be a great mix of things.”
While the second season continues to have actors Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan who played the pivotal roles of Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri respectively, it will also have some fresh faces, taking the upcoming season forward.
The fresh faces list includes, Kristofer Hivju, Carmel Laniado, Agnes Bjorn, Yasen Atour, Paul Bullion, Thue Ersted Rasmussen and Aisha Fabienne.
