The Big Bull: Release Date Of Abhishek Bachchan Starrer Pushed To Next Year After The Massive Success Of Hansal Mehta’s Scam 1992? - EXCLUSIVE
Scam 1992  the webseries  on  stockmarket  wizard Harshad Mehta produced by Applause Entertainment has become a rage. It is  by far  the  most successful  Indian web series of 2020, surprising even  its director Hansal Mehta  by the  volume  of success by surpassing everything he had done before. One now hears  that the release of  another Harshad Mehta  bio-pic The  Big Bull  on Disney-Hotstar featuring Abhishek Bachchan as  Harshad Mehta,  has  been pushed  forward  to next  year.

According to sources in the know, “Disney -Hotstar who are  to stream  The  Big Bull  are  waiting  for  the  craze  for Hansal Mehta’s  series  on Harshad Mehta  to  subside.” Hansal himself seems taken aback by the success of Scam 1992. “I’ve never seen success like this in my entire career. Of course Scam is the  biggest hit of  my entire  life.Did I expect this? No, not really. We  knew we had a winner. Pratik Gandhi as Harshad was  the  series’ bandh  mutthi(ace). Also we had  great  producers in Applause Entertainment.  But this  kind of success. No, we didn’t expect it.”

Says a  source  in the know, “Disney-Hotstar  never expected this  kind  of  success for Scam. They are  are now re-assessing  the potential of  the product.  The  Big Bull director Kookie Gulati  doesn’t have  a  box-office record  behind him. They may decide to promote the  film solely on  the strength  of  the Harshad Mehta factor”.

However The  Big Bull producer Anand Pandit says the  delay is due to the  administrative upheavals at  Disney-Hotstar. “Once the new team takes over  at Disney-Hotstar,release dates for all  their  pending  films will be decided,” says Pandit.
