Sharmin Segal Needs To ‘Not Live In A Bubble,’ Says Heeramandi Co-Star Adhyayan Suman; Actor Opens Up About The Former Being TROLLED
Adhyayan Suman has reacted to Sharmin Segal being constantly trolled for her ‘expressionless’ acting and has advised to accept reality
Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced the second season of his web-series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar on Monday. The announcement certainly left the netizens with reactions. Many even expressed that the filmmaker should cast someone else for the role of Alamzeb, which is played by his niece Sharmin Segal. For those who don’t know, the latter has been subjected to brutal trolling for her ‘expressionless and emotionless’ performance in the show. The netizens have also been circulating clips of her taking jibes at her co-stars during the recent interviews. Now, Adhyayan Suman has shared a piece of advice for her.
During an interview with Bollywood Hungama, the father-son duo Shekhar Suman and Adhyayan Suman were asked for their honest opinions on Sharmin’s portrayal of Alamzeb. While the veteran actor expressed how he understood why she chose to play the demure character, the way that she did, his son straightforwardly advised her to not live in a bubble and accept the reality. He stresses how it is important for her to not lie to herself. ALSO READ: Heeramandi Actor Shekhar Suman Says S*x Workers' Contribute To The Society In A Way: 'Mardon Ki Bhookh Channelise Hoti Hai'
Quoted by the Indian Express, he shared, “I think it’s very important to not live in a bubble. It’s very important to accept any sort of reality, not just Heeramandi, per se. It’s very important to understand who you are, it’s very important to understand whether you have it in you to fight the next 15-20 years. It’s important for you to not lie to yourself.” ALSO READ: ‘The Technicians Came Over And Said Thank You’: Shekhar Suman On His Oral S*x Scene With Manisha Koirala In Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar
The 36-year-old actor, who hasfaced his fair share of criticisms on his performances in movies, explained how he worked on himself after taking stock of the situation. He re-emerged as a successful actor after a period of disappointment when he was almost written-off by the entertainment industry. Adhyayan stated that Sharmin should come out and speak to the audience who criticised her. He added, “The audiences are very gentle, they’ll give you another chance if they feel you’ve worked hard.”
Extending his support towards the Malal actress, Shekhar shared how if she thinks that there is credibility to the criticism, she should “do some quick thinking about why they’re saying that, and if you feel they have a point, correct yourself and prove them all wrong.” He went on to express how SLB wouldn’t have casted his niece for the role and risked his reputation just because she is his niece.
The 61-year-old actor said, “I think they’re being too harsh on her. There are different schools of acting. If she wasn’t right, Bhansali saab wouldn’t risk his name, his career, his reputation on a girl just because she’s his niece.”
It is to be noted that apart from the father-son duo, many other Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar actors have spoken up about Sharmin Segal getting brutally trolled.
