Sezal Sharma: 'My Short Film Is Based On An Actual Incident- A Friend's Landlord Asked Her To Sleep With Him As She Couldn't Pay The Rent'- EXCLUSIVE
Quarantine Zindagi, a short film starring Sezal Sharma is streaming from today. It is based on a true incident, which took place with actress' good friend
Bollywood actress Sezal Sharma, who made her digital debut with Love Life And Screw Ups, is gearing up for her next OTT release, titled Quarantine Zindagi. The storyline of the short film focuses on struggling actors surviving in the dream city, with no work and money in the current situation. This has also led many actors leaving the city while other have gone into depression and have also had suicidal thoughts.
While talking about the concept of the short film, Sezal revealed, "The storyline is something which I can relate to. In fact, the concept of the film is based on a true event. One of my friends, who is also an actress in the industry faced a very tough time in this lockdown. She has been struggling for work for quite some time now. And ever since the lockdown happened, her little source of income also stopped."
Elaborating further on her friend's sad situation, Sezal said, "She was unable to pay rent for three months as her flat mate immediately left the city when this got announced. Her landlord kind of started torturing her over the dues of rent. And the situation got worse when he offered her to sleep with him if she is unable to pay the money. She reached out to her best friend for the help and she also advised her to go ahead as there is no other solution."
Sezal added, "I feel blessed that I stay with my family and have complete support from them. But surviving in this industry without any work is really difficult. And this has forced many such actors to even end their life. With this film we are trying to show the ugly side of quarantine zindagi."
The short film also has a Rashami Desai connection as her Dil Se Dil Tak co-star Jignesh Joshi has a pivotal role. And the project is produced by her manager Santosh Gupta. The film will stream on a popular OTT from today.
