Sacred Games: Characters We Will Miss in Season 2
The Sacred Games 2 trailer promised a lot of exciting new characters. But here are the ones we will miss in the new season
Sacred Games, Netlix India’s popular crime show returns for a second season in a couple of weeks. Ever since the trailer dropped, social media is buzzing with fan theories, predictions and a whole lot of excitement. While we will see new characters entering the show in Season 2 played by Kalki Koechlin and Pankaj Tripathi, there are a few iconic characters from Season 1 we will not see in the show. These characters met with tragic, untimely deaths and will be missed greatly.
1. Radhika Apte as Anjali Mathur
One of the most interesting tracks of the first season was the RAW investigation headed by intelligence officer, Anjali Mathur. Her love-hate relationship with Inspector Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) was very interesting and we were all heartbroken when Anjali dies towards the end of the first season in a gruesome, undeserving fashion.
2. Kubbra Sait as Kukoo
One of the most memorable characters of the show, Kukoo will sadly not be a part of the second season. Kukoo, a transgender bar dancer not only was a beautifully written part but also put Kubbra Sait’s acting talents to the forefront. She played Kukoo effortlessly. Kukoo ka jadoo indeed chal gaya, although her relationship with Gaitonde is what ultimately cost her her life.
3. Jitendra Joshi as Inspector Katekar
While Sartaj Singh was the lead constable in Sacred Games, Jitendra Joshi as Inspector Katekar won the internet. The endearing, honest, wise and loyal sidekick to Sartaj made his own mark with an earnest performance. The Marathi actor will be remembered for one of the most heart-warming parts written in television. It will be tough to imagine Sartaj without him. His death was definitely one of the most painful moments of the Season 1.
Although unimaginable without these lovely characters, Season 2 will hopefully raise the bar when it comes to creating memorable characters of its own. Here’s looking forward to a fabulous second season!
