Rajeev Khandelwal Narrates His Casting Couch Nightmare; Mentioned Having A Girlfriend So That The Guy Knows He Is Straight
In his latest interview, Rajeev Khandelwal shared that not just women but men too have been a victim of the casting couch. He shared his own experience and revealed how he escaped it
The #MeToo wave in Bollywood exposed many. Quite a few actresses and others came out and shared their stories. Well, the menace of Casting Couch is not just limited to women. TV actor turned Bollywood star Rajeev Khandelwal recently shared his #MeToo story and revealed that he was once offered a role by a big director in exchange of favours. Rajeev who has now moved to do web-shows revealed that he lied to the director that he has a girlfriend so that he knows he is straight.
In an interview with Times of India, Rajeev shared about this incident before he bagged his first Bollywood film, Aamir. Talking about the #MeToo movement, Rajeev was quoted saying, "The incident gave me flashes of a once-upon-a-time super director who had offered me a movie back then when I did not start doing films." He further added, "Next time, he called me from his office to his room, and then he made me sit there and decided not to give me the story, instead asked me to decide whether I want to do the movie based on one song."
Next, he explained how he escaped the situation. Rajeev said, "By the second meeting, I had realised things were just not alright. It turned into a hilarious situation as well. I found myself feeling how any woman in my place would have felt. He asked me to go to his room which I refused to. I dropped names and mentioned that I have a girlfriend back then waiting for me so that the guy knows that I am straight."
