Since Covid-19 has been declared a pandemic, the government has been advising as many people to avoid going out as much as they can and stay indoors and self isolate in case of any symptoms. It can be intimidating to not having to do much when everything else outside is shut but movies are always what gets us through. So here’s looking at various movies whose plot lines includes virus and dealing with its spread.

1: Outbreak (1995)

Movie focuses on the outbreak of the Ebola-like virus called ‘Motaba’ in Zaire and then in a small town in the United States. It shows unheard sides of military and civil agencies that how they take to control the spread of the virus.There is fact about this film is when the film was released, a real-life outbreak of Ebola virus was occurring in Zaire.


2: 12 Monkeys

It’s the story about a deadly virus released in 1996 which wipes out almost all of humanity, forcing survivors to live underground. A group known as the Army of the Twelve Monkeys is believed to have released the virus.




3:The Andromeda Strain (1971)

Based on a 169 Michael richton novel, this movies centers on a group of scientists working to figure out what unknown virus killed all the citizens of a small town.



4: Pandemic (2016)
It shows a post-apocalyptic world where the patients who suffer from viral disease are being searched for in effort to cure them or at worst, euthanize them. The film is shot in a first-person POV, similar to first-person shooter<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First-person_shooter> video games.



5: Flu (2013)
 South Korean disaster film called ‘Flu’ is about an outbreak of a deadly strain of H5N1 that kills its victims within 36 hours, throwing the district of Bundang in Seongnam, which has a population of nearly half a million people, into chaos.
