Netflix’s Extraction Trivia: Producer Joe Russo Decodes The Inception Of The Film – EXCLUSIVE
SpotboyE exclusively brings you trivia about Chris Hemsworth’s Extraction. Did you know the film has been adapted from a graphic novel titled Ciudad, which he had written with American comic-book artist Ande Parks a decade ago.
Netflix’s much-awaited film, Extraction traces the journey of Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth), a fearless black market mercenary with nothing left to lose when his skills are solicited to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord. But in the murky underworld of weapons dealers and drug traffickers, an already deadly mission approaches the impossible, forever altering the lives of Rake and the boy. Produced by The Russo Brothers- Joe Russo and Anthony Russo and directed by award-winning stunt coordinator, Sam Hargrave, the film promised to be an edge-of-the-set action-packed thriller.
While the trailer of the film has intrigued the audiences, not many know that the producer, Joe Russo adapted Extraction from a graphic novel titled Ciudad, which he had written with American comic-book artist Ande Parks a decade ago. Joe resonates strongly with the idea of action and thrillers and that has come across beautifully in the film.
Recalling his childhood love for the action-thriller genre, Joe Russo said, “We’d stay up late with my father on weekends and watch all those quintessential ‘70s action thrillers, so I have a strong emotional connection to the genre, but with this film, I wanted to deconstruct it: deconstruct the notions of what it means to be a hero and ask hard questions about the traditional stereotypes that play out in action movies.”
A few days back, SpotboyE.com brought you an exclusive sneak peak of a scene from the film which releases on April 24. What's even more special is that, Extraction also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Randeep Hooda.
