Actor Yogi Babu, a comedian most often associated with Tamil cinema, has expressed his desire to perform a role that is evocative. He is all set to enter the web space with Navarasa. The upcoming anthology, explores Indian aesthetic theory and illustrates nine different emotions.

Yogi Babu who made his debut in 2009 has earned popularity over the years as a lead comedian in the Tamil cinema industry. The actor has shared screen space with lead actors like Rajinikanth, Vijay, Ajith, Suriya and others, has really worked hard to achieve this fame. Every role that he played be it in Maan Karate which brought him in the limelight to his scene in Remo (2016), he has been well appreciated by the audience. Now after Mandela, the actor will be seen in Netflix's next anthology series Navarasa which is slated to release on August 6.

Talking about yesteryear’s comic and diverse roles, famous comedian actor Yogi Babu said, “Laughter is one of my strongest traits, but I wish to experience heavier emotions. Yesteryear comedians Nagesh and Goundamani are the perfect examples of versatility, they have carved memorable roles from their films. From Goundamani's Onna Irukka Kathukanum to Nagesh’s Server Sundaram and Neer Kumuzhi, all of these films have a seamless shift of emotions and laughs. The film Navarasa also elicits all of the human emotions in one segment. As a comic, a chance to play an emotional scene within a comic role is invaluable for me. I hope to obtain such roles in the future as well!”


Navarasa features a stellar lineup of over 40 cast members and nine remarkable directors - Arvind Swami, Bejoy Nambiar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Karthik Subbaraj, Karthick Naren, Priyadarshan, Rathindran R Prasad, Sarjun and Vasanth S Sai  - come together to embark on a magnificent journey to bring each rasa to life.The film has been produced by Justickets which is co-founded by Mani Ratnam and Jayendra Panchapakesan. The nine stories will feature Vijay Sethupathy, Prakash Raj, Revathy, Yogi Babu, Ramya Nambeesan, Nedumudi Venu, Arvind Swami, Prasanna, Poorna, Delhi Ganesh, Rohini, Aditi Balan, Karthick Krishna, Simha, Gautham Menon, Master Tarun, Riythvika, Sreeram, Abhinayasree, Ramesh Thilak, Geetha Kailasam, Siddharth, Parvathy Thiruvorthu, Atharvaa, Anjali, Kishore, Atharvaa, Anjali, Kishore and Suriya, Prayaga Rose Martin.
