Loved Fleabag? Here’s What You Should Watch Next
If you watched and loved Fleabag, you must have ended up with two takeaways. First, it is such a great show that is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. And secondly, Phoebe Waller Bridge is a genius. She created, wrote and acted in it and there is no doubt that she is not only a phenomenal actor but also a writer par excellence.

If you like British comedies and shows like Fleabag, Crashing on Netflix is for you. The show is absolutely delightful. At the very onset, the premise of the show is enough to hook you in. It is about a group of twenty-something people who are living under extraordinary circumstances – in a hospital which is no longer in use.

What emerges is a hilarious and somewhat dysfunctional set of situations and relationships. Comprising of six episodes of under 30 minutes each, Crashing delves much deeper into the human mind than you’d expect it to. Fantastically written by Phoebe Waller Bridge, each character has a structure of its own that makes it special. She is a fearless writer that doesn’t think twice about making her characters unlikeable – this is what gives them the flesh and bones.

The performances are great too but what emerges as the winner is the dry humour that the show provides. Some scenes are embarrassing to watch but that is a testament to the twenty-something life that no one really talks about. Things get messy in our twenties and Crashing doesn’t shy away from dragging us into that mess.

Crashing is a gem of a show that didn’t get the success it deserves. But if you are looking for something funny yet real, you must watch it. It will not let you down. Take a bow yet again, Phoebe Waller Bridge.

Crashing is now streaming on Netflix.
