Khufiya First Look Out: Vishal Bhardwaj's Spy Thriller Starring Tabu Is Every Bit Intriguing
The film is inspired by true events and is based on the popular espionage novel ‘Escape to Nowhere’ by Amar Bhushan
After announcing his first collaboration with Netflix on Thursday, director Vishal Bhardwaj released the first look from his upcoming film Khufiya. The first look teaser takes us into the thrilling world of Vishal's film based on the espionage novel, Escape to Nowhere by Amar Bhushan. The small glimpse shows us a mysterious man stealing some important government papers. The film stars the director's all-time favorite actors Tabu, Ali Fazal, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Ashish Vidyarthi. Khufiya is a story about Krishna Mehra, an R&AW operative who is assigned to track down the mole selling India’s defense secrets - all along, grappling with her dual identity of a spy and a lover.
Khufiya marks the second project for Tabu with Netflix, after the 2020 series A Suitable Boy, directed by Mira Nair. This will also be the actress's third project with director Vishal Bhardwaj after Maqbool and Haider. Speaking about the film Tabu in a statement said, ’Khufiya’ is a one-of-a-kind project, extremely close to my heart and I am excited to be a part of this gripping spy thriller. As always, it’s a delight working with VB (Vishal Bhardwaj) again and feels like homecoming."
Meanwhile, Tabu awaits the release of her horror comedy with Kartik Aaryan titled Bhool Bhulaiya 2 directed by Aneez Bazmee.
