Ghost Stories: Avinash Tiwary And Mrunal Thakur To Play The Lead In Karan Johar’s Web Show

Filmmaker Karan Johar’s last venture - Lust Stories on the web was much talked about. Starring Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani, the story that explored lust did wonders for the actors’ careers. Now, Karan has got Avinash Tiwary and Mrunal Thakur on board for his Netflix’s upcoming anthology Ghost Stories.

Avinash, who received rave reviews from the critics and the audience alike, for his acting debut in Laila Majnu, and Mrunal, who was seen in acclaimed films like Love Sonia, Super 30 and Batla House, will play the leads in the short film that revolves around the horror and supernatural genre.

Karan, who is known to promote emerging talent, will be directing a horror flick for the first time. Both Avinash and Mrunal have proved their talent in their debut films and are looking forward to working with the director.

A while back, Anurag Kashyap has taken to Insta and shared a picture from the sets. While making a goofy face, he is seen him holding clapboard that has Ghost Stories written on it. With the pictures, we assumed it was the day 1 as the web show kick-started with a bang. “‘Ghost Stories‘ Day one, shoot life,” he wrote. The web-series features Shobhita Dhulipala and Pavail Gulati but they are only for the part directed by Anurag.

The film has already been creating buzz as this is the first time Karan is venturing into the horror space. Ghost Stories is a series of four short films directed by Zoya, Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar and Dibakar Banerjee.
